Where to Eat in LA: Rossoblu 2.0
Chef Steve Samson has always been one of my favorite LA chefs, first with Sotto (sadly now shuttered), and now with Rossoblu, a Fashion District restuarant in the City Market South development where he’s cooking food form the Emiglia-Romagnia region. (Samson and his wife also have a bomb slice shop in the development called Superfine that makes some the best pies in the city. Def try the escarole or the salami honey!)
Anyway, sadly Rossoblu had a pretty serious fire that shut them down for a few months last year, but instead of going into hibernation, the team took the rebuild as a time to recalibrate the menu. And I’m totally here for it.
What I love most about the new menu is that the classics haven’t disappeared, ie Samson’s incredible bolgonese, or his mama’s minestra nel sacco, which truly is one of the best things I’ve eaten all year — in LA and abroad! You def want to hit this place up, and be sure to get a glass of Lambrusco, a sparkling red wine from the region that is the apple of my eye at the moment.
You can read the full article on Rossoblu for Angeleno here. And check out the video I produced for the restaurant’s reopening below.
